Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler

A clear gel- consists of hyaluronic acid that is crosslinked (ie. BDDE) to hold form and shape. This gel is injected into the tissue to create a bulking of the tissue or create and hold shape. The gel is resorbed by your own body over a course of 6-12 months. Depending on the individual person this may be longer or shorter.

The products I select will depend on the particular area and what properties I believe will enhance your results. As the products are all TGA approved, they have all passed stringent controls. Ultimately the technique of injection and aesthetic eye of the injector matters beyond any other product-driven factor.

The products I stock are Stylage, Restylane, Juvederm and Belotero. The product matters very little when it comes to the result as all hyaluronic acid filler ranges consist of products that address all properties.

What is Anti-winkle injection? (Botox, Dysport)

​

Anti-winkle injection is one of the most popular cosmetic treatment injecting a drug called botulinum toxin. Among a number of different products namely in the market, Botox is the oldest brand that is widely used across the world. Nowadays, there are many other different products available in the market that are safe and works well.

 

Why are we getting wrinkles?

​

There are a number of reasons why skin wrinkles which are aging, habitual muscle contractions, and sun exposure. 

Lines on the forehead, frown lines (between the eyebrows) and crow’s feet (the corner of the eyes) are usually attributed to habitual facial expressions. Frowning, smiling and squinting will accelerate the development of wrinkles and tend to become more prominent with time. The anti-wirnkle injection works typically well in these areas as it will stop your muscles contracting which makes your wrinkle a lot less prominent. 

 

 

How does it work? Will all wrinkles be disappeared?

 One of the common misconception about anti-winkle injection is that it works by filling in the wrinkle or getting rid of wrinkles and make them smooth. This is completely incorrect as anti-winkle injection is not treating your winkle directly rather treating your muscles. It is almost impossible remove the wrinkles completely that are already there after one session. The change will be gradual and it may need a number of sessions in order to get rid of wrinkles.

 

Why do i need multiple sessions?

 As anti-wrinkle injection targets muscles limiting the movement. The less you use the muscle, it will become weaker and weaker. It means in your following session, you will not need as much those as you needed in your first session because your muscles are not as strong as the first session. It also affects the life of anti-wrinkle injectables which means after your following sessions they will last longer than the first time.

 

How long does it last?

  Generally speaking, it will last between 3-6 months but the length of duration differs depending on individuals, products, areas and muscle strength. After the very first session, it is more likely to last shorter as the muscle is intact. The effect of anti-wrinkle will gradually fades and if it is your first session, it eventually will go back to normal before you had treatment.

 

How long does it take to kick in

-    It varies on individuals and products we used. If you had botox, it will take up to 4-14 days to fully kick in. Dysport will usually take effect after 3-10 days. 

 

What can you expect during the treatment?

​

   The injection only takes about 10min and it’s a few tiny injection sites spaced out on the area. Each one takes a few seconds and the pain is very minimal.

 

What can you expect after the treatment?

​

 While there is no down time after anti-wrinkle injection, there are a few rules to follow

Do not touch or put any pressure on the treated area for 4hours - this is the single most important thing you have to keep in mind as drug can travel and affect different muscle in the area which will lead to brows drop, lopsided smile and crooked facial expressions. You should avoid lying down flat for the same reason.

Avoid strenuous exercise for 10 hours after the injection

3)   Brusing. You may experience minor bruising as it is an injections by a needle. No matter how experienced the injector is there is always risk for bruising regarding any injections delivered by a needle. It is because no one is able to see through your skin and find where your blood vessels are which is also different in every individuals. 

4)   Mild headache. you may experience mild headache after your forehead treated. This will be eased by taking Panadol.
